What we publish, where it comes from, and how paid releases work.
The Chesapeake Standard is an independently owned online news and press release publication covering the Chesapeake Bay, Maryland and Virginia, with local editions for Annapolis, Norfolk and Salisbury. We are an online publication; we are not affiliated with any newspaper, broadcaster or other media organization.
Headlines are aggregated through Google News and filtered to the Bay region. Every headline credits the outlet that published it and links straight to the original story on that outlet's site. We never republish or rewrite third-party articles.
What we display: the headline and the originating outlet's name. Each item links to the original article.
Copyright: all third-party content remains the property of its publisher.
Businesses and organizations can publish paid press releases through our Press Wire. Every one is labelled “Advertorial” wherever it appears, shows the name of the organization that submitted it, and is published as received. Releases are written and paid for by their submitters; they are not written, reported or endorsed by The Chesapeake Standard, and any claims in them are the submitter's own.
If a headline or release on The Chesapeake Standard is wrong or out of date, email newsroom@chesapeakestandard.com and we will correct it.
